HD, 1080p and data on AniWave

What HD means for anime and donghua, and how much data a season uses.

1080p is the real resolution

Television anime and most donghua are produced at 1080p, so the HD stream is the real one and 4K adds little except for the theatrical films. 480p is the data-saver tier on a phone.

Data

A twelve-episode cour is about six gigabytes in HD and two at 480p; a donghua season of fifty short episodes is about the same. The downloads page explains how to take a season over Wi-Fi.

Buffering

"why does aniwave keep buffering" was a question about the old site's servers; here the video plays on the service you open, and dropping one tier in its player settles a slow connection.
