From 9anime to AniWave
"what happened to aniwave", "did aniwave shut down", "is aniwave back", "is aniwave dead" and "will aniwave come back" are asked in every country the name was used. The story is short. In 2023 the site that had been 9anime renamed itself AniWave, kept the same layout and the same visitors, and for a year was among the most visited anime addresses anywhere. On 27 August 2024 it closed, after action involving Vietnamese authorities and the anti-piracy coalition ACE, and the address went dark with it.
The name today
The name is still typed every day, and this address is what it leads to now: the design measured from the last capture before the closure, the dark page, the violet Play now pill, the Recently Updated tabs and the episode strips on every card, with everything under it rebuilt so that every title points, through Watch now, at the licensed services carrying it in your country. The alternatives page answers the question people asked the week it closed.
Is it back?
This address is up and stays up. If it will not load, the not working page goes through the causes.
